Suzanne is a British-born journalist and communications’ consultant who has held senior posts in one of the world’s leading news organisations, the BBC. She has delivered presentation and media training to the most senior UN officials, company executives and high ranking politicians.
Her clients include WHO in Geneva, Eli Lilly in Indianapolis and PricewaterhouseCoopers in Jakarta. She has been a senior coach for the Centre of Development Communication, based in Washington DC, which trains leading spokespeople in UN agencies worldwide.
Suzanne began her career as a newspaper journalist in Britain and the Arabian Gulf.
She moved to the BBC as a reporter then producer, progressing to senior duty editor on the peak-time national evening TV news bulletin. She later joined the BBC’s training division. When she left the corporation in 2005, she was the manager of Journalism & Production training at BBC World Service Radio, based at Bush House in London.
After the Asian tsunami, she moved to Indonesia and undertook various consultancies. She worked for the Australian government’s tsunami reconstruction programme in Aceh as a writer and communications’ consultant.
She ran UNICEF’s emergency media campaign to halt the outbreak of polio in Indonesia in 2005.
She led journalism training courses for the BBC World Service Trust in Java. She organised media workshops for managers and staff at the British Council.
Suzanne is a qualified careers’ counsellor and offers coaching on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. She works with individuals, companies and informal networks of friends.
She can also act as a consultant to businesses, developing careers’ strategies to help them retain skilled staff.
